Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe NV360: Most Frequently Asked Questions in May 2021

The Shark NV360 is an excellent upright vacuum. It is also a pretty old model, too, having been on the market for several years now.

Despite its age, this Shark vacuum remains as popular as ever. Occasionally, we receive some questions from our readers every now and then about this vacuum. Here are the most common questions asked (and answers)!

How Heavy Is It In Real Life Use?

Weight is one of the biggest concerns that our readers usually have about this vacuum. In every one of our Shark NV360 Reviews, we almost always mentioned that this vacuum is heavy and bulky.

That is the truth: the vacuum isn’t at all lightweight at 12.5 pounds in its full form and 7 pounds with the detached canister (Lift-Away pod).

But although it sounds back-breaking to use on paper, it isn’t so bad in real life. Our testers as well as the majority of users found the vacuum to be quite light in the hand. It has also been said to be easy to maneuver, use, and wield, too.

The Shark 360 vacuum has a highly ergonomic handle that is able to take off a lot of the vacuum’s weight and offset it away from the user’s wrist. That is how, despite weighing well over 12 pounds, the vacuum doesn’t feel like it’s that heavy in the hand.

Is the Dust Cup Hygienic to Empty?

This is a question that we receive for many bagless vacuums.

A bagged vacuum user is never going to be exposed to all of the dirty stuff that the vacuum sucked in. The disposable storage bag makes sure of that.

The same thing cannot be said for users for bagless vacuums like the Shark model NV360. When you empty the dust cup, you are directly exposed to the cup’s contents. Understandably, this is a big concern for people with respiratory issues, allergies, or are sensitive to dust.

Unfortunately, the NV360 Shark vacuum’s dust cup design is flawed because it doesn’t have a dirt ejecting mechanism. You simply open up the cup and pour out the contents like a pitcher. A lot of dust and dirt can be kicked up in the process.

For this reason, we recommend wearing a facial mask when you empty the cup. Be cautious while you’re emptying the cup to minimize kicked-up dust, too.

Are the Air Filters of the NV360 Washable and Reusable?

Fortunately, yes, all three of the air filters (including the HEPA filter) on the Shark navigator lift away deluxe NV360 are washable and reusable.

According to the manual, you should give all three of them a thorough wash once every three to four months. Simply remove them from the vacuum and put each of them under gently-running tap water to wash out all of the collected grimes. Once they’re sufficiently cleaned, leave them in a dry, well-ventilated area to dry for about 24 hours.

Do not place the filters back into the vacuum before they’re fully dried.

Maintain them often and you should never have to replace them with new ones. But in case you have to, filter replacement kits are available online for quite cheap.

Conclusion

We hope all of these answers have satisfied the questions you got about this great Shark vacuum!
